So think it not strange if you were to invite me to teach, and I give you a bill that says “Teaching Fee $0.00”  When I was a minister at my church back home, other ministers received a check when it was their time on the rotation.  God bless them, that’s fine.  But I turned it down. The job that God had me on, I had enough to live so there was no necessity for the church to have to give me money just because I gave a short sermon on a Sunday night. I was not in full-time ministry, so my job sustained me.  (Those in full-time ministry need the assistance of the church to be sustained unless God has blessed you otherwise.)  However, my payment was the member that told me they wanted to change, or the member that applied what I taught and saw a difference in their lives.  My payment was yokes of bondage being broken and the captives being set free.  If I got something along the way because of that, because God chose to bless me through others, then glory to God for the love offering.  But my focus shall always be on the people, not on what is in the people’s pockets.  Unless you got drugs or something in your pocket, then in that case come here let me pray with ya.

So I challenge you as you prepare to become a minister, or those who are already ministers to place your focus on the people.  Let us join together as co laborers in the aid and care to God’s people.  Let us become true ministers of the Word of God, and true examples of all that Christ said and did.  Let us not seek to be exalted by man, but exalted by God.  Let us not seek to be rewarded by man, but rewarded by God.  Let us not seek to be praised by man, but to be praised by God.  Let us be servants in the ministry of Christ. If the spotlight should be on anybody, it should be on Jesus Christ. I love what I heard from the man of God at a church I recently visited.  He said, “I really don’t care about this money thing.  If you have it that’s fine, if you don’t, that’s fine.”  I guarantee that ministry will be superbly blessed by God. I’m not a member of that ministry, but I’m going to send what he asked for just because of his FOCUS.  And finally, Let brotherly love continue. (Hebrews 13:1) Ordained as an Apostle, it doesn’t change that I am your brother and I love you. Now may the peace of God which passes all understanding guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus, Amen.

His humble servant,
Brother Kelvin
