Usually why the Body of Christ suffers is because of the neglect of the people as well as lack of examples of holiness in leadership.  When the disciples were struggling to keep up, they went and found them seven men to aid them in the daily ministration. (Acts 6:1) These were to aid the disciples in the care and service to the people.

So this is first to those who are preparing to become a minister, and second to those who already are.  The whole point is to check ourselves and make sure that we have the right focus as a minister.  Am I looking for the limelight?  Am I looking to get rich off the Word? Am I looking for all the attention?  Am I looking to be honored, reverenced, and exalted by man because of the title that I hold? Am I ready to make a sacrifice for the people?  Am I ready to tend to the needs of the people? Am I ready to aid in ministry to the aid of people?  Am I ready to follow my Pastor as my Pastor cares for the people?  A fellow minister came to me indicating that a church was inquiring him about becoming their new Pastor. He asked me if I had any advice for him.  I told him that one of the greatest pieces of advice I can give him, is to remember that the people are not there for him, but he is there for the people.  Christ said it best in Matthew 20:28 as noted above; that He is not come to be ministered unto, but to minister and give his life for many.  If we want to emulate Christ, we ought to have the same focus..
