I guess you can call it human nature to want to respond to things that happens to us, but it is not spiritual nature.   What was said to you, what was done to you, or even what was not said to you, and what was not done to you should not open the door for an eye for an eye, tooth for a tooth.   It is in those times that we ought to be like spoiled brats and go to our Father.  It is in those times that we trust God for one of two reasons.

A) He will show you the err in your ways which may have caused the situation.

B) He will deal with whomever has dealt with you unjustly.

Proverbs 20:22 “Say not thou, I will recompense evil; but wait on the LORD, and he shall save thee.”

When we try to do it ourselves, we take matters out of His hands and put them in ours.  What we do is open the door to make a mistake, and many times out of anger, that is exactly what we do.  But rather, what we should do is step back and let God take control.  No matter how long it may take, trust God.  No matter if you think it’s fair or not, trust God.  Remember, the bottom line is people will watch how you respond because you have professed to be a child of God.  And if we are to represent God’s nature, then we should show restraint in those “human nature” moments when we feel that we should respond.

It is not easy, but there is a GREAT benefit in doing so.  And that is, you have an opportunity to please God.  A pleased God comes with great reward.  No I am not promising or prophesying cars, houses, and filled bank accounts, but I can quote that God will supply your needs according to His riches in glory.  When you do things God’s way, He blessed you His way too.

I give praises and worship to the Almighty King of Kings, Lord of Lords, our battle-ax in the time of a battle!  I gotta give God the glory, the honor; dominion and power be unto His name!  Can somebody testify with me of His goodness?!  Of His awesome wonder?  I stand in awe of just a glimpse of His presence, of how He can change lives in a twinkling of an eye.   How He can deliver, heal, guide, lead, chastise, bless, provide…..wait….just how can I tell it all in a post?  Impossible!

Oh Father we ask that you help us to control our emotions and that we can be more like you.  Draw us closer to you Lord as we lean on you to learn your ways.  Teach us oh Lord your wisdom, and after we obtain wisdom help us to understand.    I pray Lord that you watch over my friends as they sleep.  That you regenerate their bodies with strength and perseverance.  Let them wake up smiling with exceeding joy knowing that they have been touched by you.  Protect them Lord for the whiles of the enemy, and enrich their lives with your peace.  To you be all honor, glory, dominion, and power! In the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit I ask that you grant this prayer for them Lord, Amen.
