Tonight, I was watching a documentary on CBS on 9/11. All I can say is wow. You know, living through hurricane Andrew, it helps me to look at Katrina victims and relate. Because I know what it was like. But to see what happened in NY is beyond my ability to relate. It looks like a movie, but it’s overwhelming knowing that it was a reality. It was really something to hear the stories from the firemen of what they saw. They saw what could not be shown on TV, and to think that most to this day continue to do the same job. What courage! I’m not sure if I were in their shoes, if I would do the same. Not sure if I could recover from such a sight; such an experience that stays with you forever.
But then I am reminded that with God all things are possible. Even in the midst of tragedies, we can find hope, reassurance, and strength through Christ Jesus. I pray for those who lost loved ones and pray for those who survived with the memories. It’s a sad reminder of the importance of us all being one nation under God, indivisible with liberty and justice for all. We say that every day as kids going through school. But this should be an event that helps us to understand what that statement is all about. Because how can a house dived amongst itself stand? It’s time to turn towards God. May God bless you; may God bless America.
