It is time that we pull together, no matter your title or rank, whether saved a year or saved a lifetime, it is time for the Body of Christ to be unified.
The Symptom – Division in the Body of Christ
Matthew 12:25 “And Jesus knew their thoughts, and said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand: ”
divisible adjective
capable of being or liable to be divided or separated; “even numbers are divisible by two”;
The Antidote – Become One
Psalm 133:1 Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!
Unity
the state or fact of being united or combined into one, as of the parts of a whole; unification.
absence of diversity; unvaried or uniform character.
The Pharmacist – Ministry Leaders
Ephesians 4:11-14
11And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;
12For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:
13Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:
14That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;
The Evidence of Healing – Unity!
In summary, if we look at the above information, we are many parts of the Body of Christ. The reason why there is division is because there exists a difference of opinion, lifestyle, message, and methods. As long as we are divided, we are divisible. However, through unity does this become impossible, because 1 is not divisible! 1 divided by 1…is 1!
One body, one Spirit, one Lord, one faith, one baptism. It is time that we pull together, no matter your title or rank, whether saved a year or saved a lifetime, it is time for the Body of Christ to be unified. If we continue to live with divisions amongst us, Christ has already left us with this wisdom, that a house divided amongst itself cannot stand.
There must be a call for unity within each individual church. Line up with the vision of your ministry. If you do not know what it is, ask your Pastor, Minister, or Deacon what the vision is and make sure that you understand it. Pray for your ministry leaders daily and follow them as they follow Christ. If you feel that there is a difference of opinion in regards to your leader I ask that you pray about it. Either God will correct you if your thoughts are wrong, or correct that individual. But we must dwell together in unity!
And there must be a call for unity between ministries. Regardless of the church of 50 or a church of 5000. A church with a TV broadcast or a church that uses the fans with the picture of Martin Luther King on it. We must pull together for the common cause of reaching out to the community. If your ministry is successful in the community, imagine what could be done with 10 ministries being successful? Remember the poor, the fatherless (orphan), the widow (single parent), and the stranger was given to the church to take care of, not the government. Five of us can chase a hundred, and a hundred of can put ten thousand to flight!
Let us be unified in our minds, unified in our churches, and let the leaders unify with each other. With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, let us forbear one another in love; and endeavour to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
His humble servant
