It didn’t stop there, because we do it today as well.  I bet that if God was a physical God, across the world we would all live better and heed to His statute, laws, and commandments.  If we could physically see Him watching us, we would not do what we do, say what we say, go where we go.  We would not treat God like we treat the police.  Not only speed limits, but how many would rob, steal, or break a law while being watched by a police officer?  If I planned on robbing a bank, and when I show up I see a police officer standing guard, chances are I would cancel my plans until he is no longer there.  But to be labeled a law-abiding citizen, it is being a citizen that obeys the law whether an officer of the law is present or not.  That even in my home I obey the law out of respect for the law.

One true way we show God our love and dedication to Him, is to believe, serve, and obey Him even though we cannot physically see Him.  Exhibiting faith is believing in what you can’t see, but trusting and hoping without doubt that the evidence will manifest itself.  Not just believing in getting a new car, a new house, healing, or other things we ask for, but believing that God is real.  Placing our hope in God so that He can provide the evidence of His existence in our lives.  In the Spirit, this is how God becomes physical in nature; through us and the way we live out the Word of God.

We ought to obey God out of respect; the fear of God.  The word fear is defined as a reverential awe.  The definition of reverence is a feeling or attitude of deep respect tinged with awe.  So when it comes to the fear of God, it is not just a fear as in being afraid.  This is why most of the people went back to their ways, because they only changed out of being afraid of God’s wrath.  But true change stays permanent because of respect of God.  That I will not do things to displease Him because I respect Him.  When there is someone we love very much, we don’t want to hurt them or betray them, so we do what we can to avoid doing anything to make them cry.

So what about God?  We should love Him so much, that the law would never apply to us, because we are not breaking the law.  If we are seeking to emulate our lives according to the fruit of the Spirit, those characteristics prevents us from doing wrong.  Let’s look at Galatians 9

22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

In closing, let us live our lives for Christ and show God how much we love and respect Him.  That no matter if we cannot see Him, touch Him, or hear an audible voice, we still believe in Him, respect Him, and know that He is THE only living God that ever was, is, and is to come.  Let us praise Him and dedicate our lives to Him and allow His Spirit to dwell in us, so that we become beacons of light to draw the lost out of darkness.  That in these last days with the world being so foggy, we can be the lighthouses that guides the children of God home.  In season, and out of season let us remain the same, and enjoy the grace of God that He has given to us as a gift.  Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. (Eccl. 12:13)

Just as important let brotherly love continue; let us love one another as we love ourselves.  Now may the peace of God which passes all understanding guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Amen.
His humble servant,
Brother Kelvin
